Sioban Massiah
I’m Sioban (Sha-Von), better known as Sio, proud Bronx native by way of Antigua and Barbuda (located in the Caribbean) and graduate of Temple University Fox School of Business with my concentration in Marketing.
Professionally, I have worked in brand and consumer marketing for the last 15 years. Currently I am the CEO and CSO (Chief Storytelling Officer) and Founder of A Phoenix from the Bronx Creative Group, a consulting company that offers storytelling strategy services for your personal brand, business, or agency. I have experience in multiple industries, working in areas such as strategic partnerships, sponsorships, database management, and large-scale event planning and execution for companies like TED Conferences (TED Talks) and Twitter, to name the most recent.

Twitter at SXSW 2022
Background
10 days ahead of SXSW 2022, Twitter was asked to create moments at SXSW that activated and elevated the best topics and people through in-person programming and virtually using Twitter's newly launched audio short form product, Twitter Spaces, to create awareness and create content around trending topics on the timeline.

#TwitterVoices at Home
After the Covid-19 pandemic changed how the world worked in 2020, companies had to pivot how they reached their consumers and audience. Along side the Community and Culture team at Twitter, #TwitterVoices at home was born with the focus ensuring that the community stayed connected and were provided opportunities to support one another during a time when in-person connection felt distant.
This evolution of the program leaned on digital strategies to ensure connectedness and was deeply committed to ensuring supplier diversity by hiring vendors and engaging in partnerships owned by the #TwitterVoices and the greater community to continue to invest in diverse communities in a time period when they need the su[pprt and amplification the most.

Twitter New Fronts 2022
Background
We needed to create a dynamic timeline featuring best in class tweets from consumers and featured brand partners telling the digital story of Twitter's upcoming digital content that would be presented to advertisers in a tight turnaround time and pivoted as needed as Twitter had just announced its acquisition. Sourced, vetted, and gained legal approved over 10,000 tweets that supported the programming presented by leadership, including Twitter's Chief Customer Officer.

The Center For Cultural Power at AFROTECH 2023
The Center for Cultural Power is a women of color led organization that supports artists using creative art and inspiring narrative to promote social, racial, gender and economic justice through community organizing & cultural strategy. They wanted to show up at AFROTECH 2023 and create and experience that connects art, technology, storytelling, and civic engagement. The tapped me to run the event end to end.
The event, sponsored by Crown Royal, and partnering with PVO Global, Black Google Network, and others had over 1500 attendees and showcased over 40 artists digitally, and physically, had 4 interactive components, and told the story of over 12 different social justice topics.
ESSENCE Festival of Culture 2023
For the Essence Festival of Culture 2023, I worked with multiple brands like Proctor and Gamble and American Airlines, and managed 3 activation sites to help bring their brand vision to life in New Orleans to cater to over 500,000 in person attendees that helped to bring an over $327M+ economic impact to the city.
AFROPUNK Brooklyn 2023
Afropunk is an organization that celebrates Black culture and diversity through music, art, and community produced by alternative black artists. I worked as the sole Brand activation manager to bring to life the vision of brands like LUSH, AT&T, AS I AM, The Waverly Foundation and more in alignemnt with the unique atmosphere of the AFROPUNK Circus of Soul theme
